点评：I had a phenomenal experience at Khao Yai NP, in very large part thanks to Khao Yai and Beyond and my guide Deaw. I've been lax posting my review, I actually went in October 2024. I did the 3 day wildlife explorer tour, but since I had already booked accommodation, Deaw and team were very helpful modifying the tour to pick me up from my hotel. I saw many animals including elephants, gibbons, hornbills, vipers, porcupines, jackals, civet cats, and even a pack of dhole! The included night tour was fantastic for wildlife spotting as well.
The hiking during the day was an incredible, unique experience. Once we got about 1km from the roads, there wasn't any sign of another person anywhere nearby. Almost everyone drives through and doesn't leave the roads. We followed a lot of animal tracks to salt-licks in the jungle.
You can only do very minimal hiking in this national park without a guide, and that makes perfect sense given any actual trails are short and close to the road. I never could have navigated them more than the first km on my own. Deaw knew exactly where he was going, and was clearly very experienced hiking in this park. He also made a lot of effort to accommodate any specific interests I had whenever possible. I cannot recommend Deaw and the team at Khao Yai and Beyond highly enough.
Price translated to about $900AUD for 3 days totally private tour. This included park entry fees and 2 night safaris. If you have more than one person then the costs get split and lower significantly. I found this to be a very reasonable cost.
**Staying in the park would have been even more conducive to wildlife sightings, so you may wish to do this. However, I stayed in a resort called The Hidden Village and this was also fantastic. I strongly recommend going on weekdays, as the weekend saw significantly larger crowds in the park.
***I urge you to wear long hiking pants and hiking boots or at the least fully enclosed shoes.
