点评:We’ve been in many caves around the world and this one beats them all. It was incredible to see and enormous once inside. We really could not believe how large it was until we started our trek. The trail paths are well taken care of and marked. The NPS staff are welcoming and friendly. They work hard to preserve our natural wonders in the United States. My college age daughter and I opted not to take the elevator down and walked the 2.5 miles. It was downhill with switchbacks but most persons in decent shape should be able to handle it. The next day we felt a little sore on our lower body (legs and hips) from the downward walk as it was steep in a few spots. We saw a person in a scooter on parts of the path that were accessible and an individual being pushed in a wheelchair. It’s nice to know all individuals can experience this work of nature. The cave inside was not too chilly. We had on short sleeves and took a light sweater just in case. There is a restroom area close to the elevator at one end of the cave and a gift shop in the cave. You can also buy a postcard and mail it in the post box right inside the cave. We took the elevator back up and explored all the visuals and information in the center. There is also a gift shop upstairs, staffed information area, restroom and cafe.
