点评：Of the 7 springs we visited in Florida this was my least favorite. There's no visitor center, much less information of any kind for this park when you first arrive. A map at least would have been nice.
We knew we were in trouble when we turned off the highway to a rough, holey dirt road. $4 to be paid on the honor system. The parking lot you immediately come to is for Orange Groves Spring. There's an accessible boardwalk that takes you to the spring, though why anyone would swim in it is beyond me. Disgusting water.
He wasn't going to continue on, since there was a honking big hole in the middle of the road full of water, but after watching another truck go through I talked him into it. The road ends at another parking lot for the spring.
The bathrooms are all port a potties.
The trouble with springs as I've found is when you go first thing in the morning, taking a picture results in the water reflecting the trees & sky. Springs are better photographed when the sun is shining directly on them. Thus, my pictures didn't turn out well.
This is a huge diving spring. One of the most important ones if I read the information boards right. You have to be a certified diver to dive here & if I had never dived here before, a guide.
If you want to swim, I'd head over to Itchetucknee, where the water is clearer & more swim worthy IMO.
Well worth taking is the 1.2 mile nature trail. It has information boards on what is underneath your feet & some sink holes. Those boards told me more about this spring & it's importance to cave diving. The trail is flat & easy.
