点评:The "old palace" of the Emirate (to distinguish it from Qasr Al Watan which yes is the current modern palace) in like an L-shape with rooms along 2 wings & on 2 levels, it was I would say a nice learning (as I walked along those lengths) of how things were in this emirate generally about a century & so ago mainly from enlarged photos & info texts (in mostly kind-of-empty rooms with no "object displays") but also by going through the rooms with some furniture & decorative items (although there are not many of those rooms with "object displays" and which are just along "one length" of the L-shaped building); and also kind of interesting to see at the area in the middle of the "palace courtyard" was the displays about the "falconry of royalty" as I learned it's like a popular activity among the royal members to possess these trained "predator birds" to assist in their royal hunts; and also pretty valuable (& actually also "somewhat amazing") to learn while going through the "back side" of the Palace on my way out was about the development of the all-modernized city of Abu Dhabi as it's seen today starting from a mere small town in the desert in the 50's & 60's.
And also pretty great apart from all the learning (as mentioned above) were: taking part in a small "tea ceremony" in like a bedouin tent not at the Palace itself but at the nearby building just outside the walls of the Palace (with the "ticket office" & also some museum-like rooms) right after arrival at this site; then going up one corner of the "palace courtyard" (while going through the areas of the Palace "inside the walls") with some nice views of the area around with "quite a number" of high-rises (but not like a congested area).
And afterward, with the waterfront Corniche at just about a 10-minute walk from this palace, it was first a walk along the beach (nicely spacious although not an open sea view which is blocked by "like an island" not too far in the water) before going back on the street and continuing on to the Etihad Towers (with pretty great city views & yes the view of the "open sea" from the "restaurant & observation" floor above one of those towers).
