Ghyll Scrambling at Stoneycroft Ghyll with Newland Adventure

点评：After a small research, I decided to book ghyll scrambling with Newland Adventure Centre. One of the main reasons I booked with them, is because they have their own centre to meet up, park and get changed. They have toilets to use but no showers (we knew this) for the scramblers to use after. There’s a female and male tents, in a hall, to change. Some sort of lighting in the female/purple tent would have be useful. My husband said their tent was fine.
We had Harvey for our instructor. We are a family of four (2 adults, 12yo girl and 10 yo boy )and a father & son pair was in our group too. Harvey was absolutely brilliant with our boy and with all of us. Our boy was already nervous and apprehensive before arriving at the centre.
The walk from the centre to the top was an adventure itself with Harvey engaging with the group and giving some information of the area while walking up. He was energetic and personable. Starting the scrambling down, our boy was already panicking and crying. I was impressed that Harvey managed to calm him down and encouraged him to do the first “hurdle”. No rush and very patient. Our boy so happy with himself when he did it and completed the rest of the scramble, with maybe 1-2 more apprehensive jumps but he did all of them. I didn’t unfortunately but I still had an amazing time.
We did the activity today (9 April 2025). We got lucky with the weather. Sunny but still cold. It was bearable. All the gear was provided. Even the shorts to wear over the wetsuits. We had our own swim wear underneath and 3 of us had rash vest under too. It was super fun for the family and we all loved it! Having a good and fun instructor made the difference too!

我们今天（2025年4月9日）参加了这项活动。天气很幸运，阳光明媚，但仍然很冷。还可以忍受。所有装备都提供了，甚至连穿在潜水服外面的短裤也提供了。我们里面有自己的泳衣，我们三个人里面还穿了防晒背心。我们一家人都玩得很开心，我们都很喜欢！有一位优秀又有趣的教练也让我们感觉与众不同！
