点评:This site is in the middle of a housing development but don't let that put you off because before the development this was a army barracks so everything what was found had been protected underground and excavations are ongoing as and when the development expands, I was greeted by a very friendly eager volunteers who between them have made this place very user friendly, children are made most welcome too, the staff too are very knowledgable of the whole site and when I visited I got a personal tour which is done so you get a general feel for the site after which you can wonder round in your own time, I did see some school visit photos so at busy times I would phone first if you want a bit of quietness, I cannot remember the guys name who took me round first but he told me I was his first person to guide round and in my eyes he gets 10 out of 10.....pointing out little markers in the area to get a idea on how big this site truly is, but at the moment there is still a lot not visible as its still covered by buildings or on areas out of bounds, but all round a very pleasant and informative visit. atmosphere is very down to earth, plus there is a small cafe so you can get a brew too.
