Beautiful, peaceful walk through "old time Florida"

点评：Lovely walk through a very peaceful preserve. It's true there is some damage from wild pigs, however this is a nature preserve, and wild pigs are part of nature so it should be expected.
My husband and I went in the late afternoon and only saw 1 bird, so I would recommend going in the early morning if you're a birder.
The trail was very well marked until we got to marker #10. All of the markers up until then had arrows painted to direct us toward the next marker as well as red paint on the trees. When we got to #10, we should have turned right, but instead kept walking straight since we could not see an arrow or paint in either direction. The path was a little less maintained, but still clearly a path with two by four "bridges" over the wet area so we assumed we were still on the "loop". After walking for awhile we ended up at River Road 1.3 miles from the beginning of the trail. We had to walk along River Road (only feet from the road due to construction) to get back to our car. Oddly enough, the only wildlife we saw (a wild pig and an osprey nest) was while walking along the road.
So, pay attention to the markers and maybe use Google maps to make sure you're still on the loop. Our 3.3 mile trip turned into a 5 mile walk. But it was a beautiful day and we still enjoyed it quite a bit.
