Old Dairy Farm Craft Centre的点评
点评：Bank Holiday Sunday 28th May 2023, My husband and I went out for the day to visit The Old Dairy Farm Craft Centre at Upper Stowe in Northamptonshire. The drive through the countryside to the craft centre was a real pleasure with lots of wonderful greenery and flowering trees and bushes and the day was wonderfully warm and sunny.
The Craft Centre is housed in a complex of stone-built farm buildings and is sited around two main courtyards. Some buildings date back to the sixteenth century, many retain part of their original features, all have been restored and updated in a very sympathetic way to help retain the atmosphere and history of the original farm.
The Craft Centre offers a unique selection of shops, selling a wide variety of products. The choice available includes; a selection of luxury women's fashion which is made onsite, quality arts and crafts, greetings cards and gifts. There is also a model railway outlet which sells accessories, modelling tools and toys, a dog grooming salon & boutique, a photographic studio offers a range of individually tailored services, there is also an interior design studio in the main courtyard along with a beauty salon which offers a wide range of treatments.
My husband and I arrived and parked our car in the car park. We strolled up to the Craft Centre and were looking forward to mooching around the shops.
Unfortunately, most of them were closed (On A Bank Holiday!!! – Seems They Do Not Have An Eye For Business).
We looked around the ones that were open: a card shop, a honey shop, a bird food shop and the art gallery, but we did not purchase anything.
My husband and I by now were in need of refreshments, so we went to ‘The Barn’ Cafe where we ordered coffee and cakes; we paid for them and went to sit outside at a table in the courtyard in the lovely warm sunshine. Our order was brought out to us.
My husband and I both had a large slice of blueberry and almond cake, which was delicious. My husband had an Americano black coffee and I had a mocha coffee. It was nice to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet with just the birds singing in the trees and no city traffic sounds. I found inspiration here and I wrote a poem called ‘Leaving The Vale of Shadows’.
We spent two hours in this pretty quite courtyard and we left as the centre was closing at 4.00pm.

我们环顾了那些开着的：卡片店、蜂蜜店、鸟食店和美术馆，但我们没有购买任何东西。
我丈夫和我现在需要点心，所以我们去了“谷仓”咖啡馆，在那里我们点了咖啡和蛋糕；我们付了钱，然后在可爱温暖的阳光下坐在院子里的一张桌子旁。我们的订单被带到了我们面前。
我丈夫和我都吃了一大片蓝莓杏仁蛋糕，很好吃。我丈夫喝了美式黑咖啡，我喝了摩卡咖啡。很高兴坐下来享受和平与宁静，只有鸟儿在树上歌唱，没有城市交通的声音。我在这里找到了灵感，写了一首名为“离开阴影谷”的诗。
我们在这个非常安静的庭院里待了两个小时，然后我们离开了，因为中心在下午 4 点关门。
