Low expectations but I enjoyed it.
Okhla Bird Sanctuary的点评
点评：Came for birdwatching.
Visiting Delhi on other business and needed a birdwatching location near the city.
Read some reviews here and elsewhere. Looked at bird activity on iBird. Decided to try it.
Took the metro to Okhla Bird Sanctuary station, and the New Delhi Subway system is fantastic! But as others have mentioned: from the train station I had to follow my instincts to find the southern entrance -“Gate 1 (yes you walk against traffic along the highway till you cross the canal) Approx five minutes total walking.
Sunrise was 6:48 and I was in the gate at 7:00.
Gate was open, no one around so I just let myself in.
I started noticing birds right away and left the park having seen approx 35 species. Patience and my Nikon P950 were my only tools.
Eventually saw a few more people, all friendly. Never was it busy.
Exited at the north end - “Gate 2” and walked to the blue line metro station New Ashok Nagar. This was a farther walk approx 30min, but insightful nonetheless.
Yes there is way too much pollution in the water, some on the land.
The din of the city can still be heard but it is somewhat muted.
It’s surprising much wildlife can exist here- but then, any oasis will do when surrounded by concrete.
Park infrastructure appears to be in much the same state as other public areas. However I really appreciated the signs along the way pointing out what types of birds an wildlife to watch for!
Recommended for visiting birders who have a little bit of gumption and who want to add some lifers to their lists!

仍然可以听到城市的喧嚣，但声音已经减弱了一些。令人惊讶的是，这里竟然栖息着这么多野生动物——不过话说回来，在钢筋水泥的包围下，任何绿洲都弥足珍贵。
公园的基础设施似乎和其他公共区域差不多。但我非常欣赏沿途的指示牌，它们标明了可以观赏的鸟类和其他野生动物种类！
推荐给那些略有勇气、想要在观鸟清单上添加一些新物种的观鸟爱好者！
