Lower level great… cable car average

点评：It is about 1hr drive from Funchal to the cable Topped there around 10am on the way to Porto Moniz. There are only about 30 car parking spaces so spaces at the top, so must be chaotic in summertime.
At the top, there is a lookout from where you can look down onto the lower terrace and see the cable cars go down their steep ascent/descent. There is also a cafe and a free toilet.
The lower level is great, the cable cars themselves hold up to 6 people though probably best for 2-4. There is a man at the top who controls the cable car, and he has cameras at the bottom to determine when to bring the pod back up.
It takes about 5mins to do the journey for the €5 return trip. The pods themselves are very dirty… so taking photos through the windows is difficult. There was a gap at the top, like a very small window, though th8s would require standing up, which is not allowed. There is also a gap at the bottom, so any phones that fall, and may waft towards the door on the floor, could fall out of the pod.
The ride was a journey to something better than the ride itself…
