点评：Please note, this facility is NOT closed. It had been renamed about 5 years ago. The reason we were told for the renaming was due to people asking locals for directions to the Hacienda only to be given directions to a town of the same name but 5 km from the Hacienda and in the opposite direction. The new name is Hacienda Sitio de Mata.
We visited this stunningly beautiful location in Costa Rica via a cruise ship shore excursion. From the port it is about a 90 minute drive to the Hacienda which is located in a mountainous area of the country. If you want to see more of Costa Rica not near the cruise port this is well worth the adventure.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the experience all the more enjoyable. The Hacienda’s location is so stunning it is used as not only a tourist destination but as a wedding facility. During our visit we were the only tour bus with about 25 people in total. I was told by the management they limit the amount of daily visitors.
Tour the beautiful grounds, see how coffee is picked and proceeded and enjoy a fresh cup. See how sugar cane became a better business than coffee and how the processing of raw sugar is done. Enjoy final samples throughout the entertaining presentations.
Well worth your time investment.
