点评：This is a small museum, with a £5 admission fee, but is worth every penny. It's incredibly well-done and researched, and laid out in a manner that is easily walked through, with a couple of places to sit along the way if that is important (I have MS- so this is a really good thing for me.) The displays are incredibly informative. Helmsdale is a lovely village, with a rich history and incredibly friendly people. There is an impressive library upstairs with a wide range of topics. We didn't visit the cafe, but we'll visit it soon, I'm sure. The museum itself is dog friendly, so even our pooch was able to walk through it with us. It took us about an hour to walk through it...and I would have liked to wander through it a bit more slowly, but the 2 people I was with had other plans for the afternoon. I specifically enjoyed the displays set in the kitchen or other areas of the house, and seeing the different tools used, etc. Having not grown up in Scotland, the details of the histories of the communities surrounding where I now live are all new to me, and I appreciate being able to learn about our new home in such a comfortable and interesting place.
