Lochnagar Crater的点评
点评：Upon first arriving, you're greeted with a pleasant view of the surrounding landscape - flat farmland, green trees and if you're lucky, a clear blue sky - a stark contrast to how it looked nearly 110 years ago during WWI
As you get to the rim and look inside this giant scar, it quickly hits you just how powerful this underground mine explosion was. At 91m across and 21m deep, this preserved and well cared for crater was surreal to walk around as situated on the rim, the walkboards contain the names of soldiers who died fighting in the surrounding area and there's also a 'memorial garden' located close by, offering quiet shaded seating.
Whilst there's no refreshments on-site, the location is close to the town of Albert some 10-15 minutes drive away. Overall, it's a must see spot if you're visiting the area or passing through.
