点评:We set off early to climb Ben Lomond — two adults and three children (13, 12, and 12). The forecast was for wet weather, and we thought we were dressed accordingly, but about two-thirds of the way up the conditions changed completely — it turned very cold and we even had snow!
I wasn’t prepared for just how many steep, stone steps there are, and they became very slippery when wet. The descent was actually harder than the climb up, so take your time and watch your footing.
On the way up, the views over Loch Lomond were absolutely beautiful — make sure to look up and take them in before the cloud rolls in! Unfortunately, the weather at the top limited the views, but it still felt like a great achievement to reach the summit.
Overall, it was a tough but rewarding hike. Definitely challenging in wet conditions, but I’d still recommend it — just make sure you’re well prepared for all kinds of weather!
