点评:The entrance to The Grange looks like a private track by a thatched lodge…but it is the way in, but down what can only be described as a farm track.
My car grounded out multiple time on the heavily rutted non road getting to the house.
The house…an ugly concrete abomination surrounded by grassed over former garden, a ‘conservatory’ that’s clearly been locked up for years looking at the webs and dead critters trapped behind the shuttered windows.
I’ve zero ideas why this place is even open to drive up to…get here walk around in fifteen minutes (the house is shut and apparently used as some sort of venue/weddings/film etc) and that’s you done.
There’s a couple of boards about the gardens giving a little history about the place but not much else.
Maybe and only maybe a summer picnic location if it’s quiet.
The most disappointing English Heritage place I’ve visited by far.
