Enjoyable Biltmore activity with Chihuly chandelier - and special items to purchase!

点评：The winery is another interesting activity on the Biltmore Estate – and part of the total experience that shouldn’t be missed. The area around the winery contains small shops and restaurants (including their creamery) as well as a Chihuly sculpture on the grounds (at least they had one in December). There is also a Biltmore family museum in one of the buildings by the winery.
Knowledgeable employees curate the free wine tasting experience. The wine tasting allows 5 selections from their list which includes whites, rose, and red wines. Lines for the tastings can get long on weekends depending on the time. The nice thing is that the wines are available in the shop right there for purchase. They also have special Christmas wines – and I have found that some of those have been my favorites.
The wine shop also features an amazing permanent Chihuly chandelier. Since we went in December, everything was decked out in Christmas lights. The entrance to the winery from Antler Village goes through an arbor and then follows a long “cellar” hall also showing some of the Biltmore wine history.
All in all, the winery is a nice experience even for people who don’t live and breathe wine. The shop also carries culinary supplies and other items as well as serves samples of some of their flavorings – their raspberry that can be put in lemonade or tea is my favorite as well as their wassail mix in apple cider (which can also be mixed in wine). Amazing Christmas flavors!
