点评：While visiting Tivoli this April, my friend and I stumbled upon what easily became the highlight of our trip: the Temple of the Sibyl (Tempio della Sibilla). Perched dramatically on the edge of a sheer cliff overlooking a deep gorge and roaring waterfalls, this ancient Roman ruin has an incredibly majestic, timeless atmosphere.
A few tips for anyone planning an April visit:
Catch the spectacular Wisteria bloom: This is the absolute best month to visit. We booked a terrace table at the historic Ristorante Sibilla, which sits right at the foot of the temples. In April, their centuries-old wisteria tree bursts into full purple bloom. Dining under a canopy of cascading lavender flowers with a 2,000-year-old temple towering right above you is an unforgettable, cinematic experience.
Best photo angles: The spring light in April is incredibly crisp. For the best views, take a walk onto the nearby bridge or hike down into the park of Villa Gregoriana below. Looking up at the temple standing proud on the cliffside against the lush spring greenery is a postcard-perfect shot.
Be prepared for canyon breezes: Even though April weather is lovely, the temple is located on a high acropolis right next to a massive waterfall.
