点评：We use Houghton Hall regularly for a stop and on our latest visit it was just a run out and some lunch on a miserable cold day, we joined the queue which was a fair length and seem to take for ever to be served I think in total 15 minutes we waited, after we ordered our food we were then told it would be a 20 minute wait which was acceptable but may I add that some people were leaving due to the wait, when we sat down twice we seen people complaining about their food and one person got food he didn’t order, I must state that it was very busy but obviously they were having trouble coping, eventually after 35 minutes our food arrived I ordered a battered fish gourmet ciabatta sandwich , it looked very nice but I could not get my teeth through it due to it being over toasted and resembling a brick either that or it had been sitting so long it just giving up life, my wife had a baked potato which she enjoyed, when I complained I was offered a free cake which I rejected , we then asked for a refund on my meal which I think was the only acceptable outcome as it was totally inedible because to be honest what i received was very poor and at the end of it all i ended up having no lunch as I certainly was not going to wait another near 40 mins.
