Though it is located slightly off the main road, the journey is well worth it for the chance to see lions in their natural habitat. The park is well-managed, and the experience of exploring the forest while looking for these majestic creatures is both thrilling and unforgettable. Given its popularity, it is advisable to plan your visit accordingly, as weekends, especially Saturdays, tend to attract large crowds.
One of the biggest advantages of the park is its ample parking space, ensuring that visitors arriving in private vehicles or tourist buses have no trouble finding a spot. The entry ticket is reasonably priced at INR 100 per person, making it an affordable yet exciting experience. However, due to high footfall on weekends, waiting times can go up to 30 minutes before boarding the safari bus. The park operates two minibuses for the safari, and while seats are allotted based on ticket numbers, it's best to secure a good spot early, especially near the windows, for the best views of the wildlife.
Once inside, the safari offers an up-close encounter with the park’s resident big cats. The park is home to two lionesses and one lion, along with other wildlife such as spotted deer and peacocks. We were fortunate enough to see all three lions during our visit, with two of them resting in the shade right next to our vehicle. The sheer thrill of being so close to these magnificent animals, watching them move gracefully or simply laze around, is an experience unlike any other. The safari also offers occasional sightings of deer wandering deeper into the forest, and at the entrance, we were treated to a mesmerizing display by peacocks, their radiant feathers shimmering in the sunlight.
