Waipio Valley Shuttle的点评
点评：This was our SECOND trip into the Waipio Valley with Waipio Valley Shuttle. It will NOT be our last. Unless Kilauea is erupting, this should be the top of your list for visits no matter where you are staying on the Big Island. The opportunity to visit this truly unique and beautiful location with such a connection to the history of Hawaii is truly special. There is nothing like it anywhere else in the U.S. Put simply, it is the Indiana Jones ride combined with a living history classroom that takes you back centuries. On both of our tours we have had guides who have lived in or grown up as children experiencing the valley. There experience alone and sharing the place it holds in their hearts would be enough if this was just a tour along a paved highway. But once you buckle into the van without windows and your guide shifts into 4wheel Low to navigate the 25% grade 900 feet straight down to the valley floor you know this ain’t no ordinary tour. (Sit on the right if you want keep an eye on whether all 4 tires stay in contact with the road) The floor holds an array of surprises that you may or may not see - of the highlights on the combined trips have been Waterfalls, Wild Horses, Wild Shrimp, more Waterfalls, stream crossing. River crossing, River driving, Halo fields being planted, rainbows, Coqui Frogs, Birds, Birds and a few more Birds and moments of awe. Most importantly you get a glimpse into a way of life that is still holding on and what has been lost. Just go - listen and enjoy.
