Hard to find entrance but nice reserve once found.
Whetmead Nature Reserve的点评
点评：Decided to check out this Nature reserve today 29/9/25. Took a while to find from Witham high street as no signage once you cross the Maldon road so went completely off track for a fair while. Anyway we back tracked and eventually found it after walking along the edge of an industrial park and past the evil smelling sewerage works. Was pleasantly surprised when we got there. ( It definitely needs more signage before getting to the large green Whetmead sign though. ) Once under the A12 via the bridge it starts to look like a nature reserve today. We followed the river along and went up some concrete steps which lead to a lovely view but could not find the lagoon or the bird hide unfortunately as the map was not very helpful or very clear. We intend to return another day and hopefully find the bird hide etc. There were some very nice bits of info along the river about various things which was nice to see. If any one can tell us where the lagoon and hide is would be very grateful.
