点评:Gardens can be hit or miss in the Fall, but Greenwood Gardens was an utter delight. We were en route to another destination, but decided to stop here because it is apart of the reciprocal garden network through AHS, which saved us the $15 admission fee. Arrived when the gates opened and we essentially had the gardens to ourselves for a full hour on a weekend morning before other visitors arrived. The gardeners definitely thought through planting cycles to ensure visual interest throughout the year (the bees & butterflies were loving the asters when we visited), the pool terrace and garden of the gods provided serene water elements, the teahouse and summerhouse showcase tremendous stonework (and a shadier part of the garden if you visit in the summer) and the allee of popular trees and the pond provided a more natural vista. A lot packed in, a lot to see, but it doesn't feel overwhelming. Staff members were very engaged - willing to answer questions, tell you more about the history of the families, etc., I would certainly recommend this garden to others, but note that given the number of steps, it is not handicap accessible and not the best places for people with mobility issues - unless they simply want to sit by the main house and take in the surroundings. Really lovely. See it for yourself.
