I volunteered here in 1993, clearing it up(!)
Zamoyski Palace Museum的点评
点评:I volunteered at this palace in 1993 - less than four years after the Berlin Wall fell. It was a complete mess! - trashed by years of war and neglect.
I'm so happy to see the photos now that it looks so restored and amazing.
We were all young people, sleeping on camp beds in some room. The garden was completely trashed: I remember some guys having to replace all the broken paving slabs. There were no flowers: nobody had worked in that garden for 40 years probably.
One side building was full of Soviet art: all grey and depressing.
One tower has a room at the top with windows all round: the windows were all smashed, and there was 40 years of bird poo on the floor - which we scraped off!
I don't think there was any historical paintings (except the Soviet ones), or furniture or curtains or any of that when I was there.
It's so great that it's back to life now :-)
(obv the date on my review is wrong... I can't write 1993!)
