点评:One of the highlights of our week on Shetland. From the first whiff of peat smoke as you walk down the path, you are transported back in time to crofting life in the late 1800s. The croft has been beautifully restored/preserved and information about each room is sensitively presented on unobtrusive, hand-held boards. Yes, it would be possible to whizz round in 20 minutes, but I'd really recommend taking time to slow down and absorb the atmosphere and the history of the place. Outside, there are lovely views over the sea, and the only sounds are birdsong, sheep and the waves on the shore. The volunteers who run the museum are very friendly and knowledgeable. This is an absolute gem of a place and a real privilege to be able to visit it. We spent over an hour there and could easily have stayed longer. Entry is free, but please donate generously so that this special place can be protected for future generations to enjoy.
