点评：While staying in Ballarat we drove through the arch and parked nearby then walked all around the Arch precinct.
There is so much to see and read.
You can read all the history of why and how this amazing arch was built.
Learn about the Lucas Girls who were the instigators of the project and the hard work they put in to make it happen back in 1920.
Read how it took 70.000 bricks and the brickies did it in 3 months led by a young bricklayer in his 20s.
It was officially opened 2 June 1920 by Prince Edward the Prince Of Wales, who was presented with a pair of pyjamas by the head Lucas Girl that about 500 Lucas Girls had all put a stitch in.
