点评:As a lifelong Floridian, I’ve visited Weeki Wachee many times throughout my life, and I was honestly very disappointed with the new mermaid show. It used to feel magical and family-oriented, especially for younger children, but the new version felt much more geared toward adults.
Instead of the classic Little Mermaid-style storytelling and fun underwater performances, the show included references to Elvis, Jimmy Buffett, pesticides contaminating the springs, and other topics that really didn’t connect with young kids. It completely changed the atmosphere from whimsical and educational to something that felt awkward and unsettling for families with small children.
Part of what made Weeki Wachee so special was its timeless charm and focus on the beauty and history of Florida’s springs in a way children could enjoy. Unfortunately, this new direction lost that magic for us. I hate to say it, but this was the first time I left feeling let down by a place I’ve loved for years
