An Excellent Afternoon on Lagan River in Belfast

点评：I was in Ireland for 8 days and had tried to find somewhere I could kayak during my visit. None of the scheduled offerings worked with my tour group's schedule, including the sea kayaking offered at Mobile Team Adventures. But John at MTA was very accommodating. We worked out a meeting time and place on my last afternoon in Belfast. I have kayaked in groups several times before, but this was just me and John on the Lagan River in Belfast. I expected to be paddling through the city, but the green space parkway that surrounds the river for miles made me feel like we were out in the countryside, with lush growth and overhanging trees on each side. You couldn't even hear traffic. There were many bird sightings, and even a squirrel. We went from sunshine to rain, and back to sunshine over the course of the 2 hour float. Made it all the more memorable.
John knows his stuff, and was an excellent guide, sharing his experiences and knowledge. And only when I asked for it, did he give me pointers to improve my paddling experience. He even took photos for me and texted them to me.
The cost for my own private guide for 2 hours was very reasonable. I have paid more before to go in a group of 15-20. The equipment was great, and so was the experience. I can't say enough good about it. I highly recommend MTA!
