Llanfairpwll Railway Station的点评
点评：A lovely old Victorian train station, still in use today, that has become somewhat of a tourist destination due to its sign(s) displaying the full name of the village that it serves - Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogeryrchwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.
The sign itself (the one on the platform at least) has to be held up by 5 seperate posts, whilst the one on the external wall takes up almost the entire width of the building.
The station was originally built in 1848 - incidentally the same year London Waterloo was opened - and very much embodies the feel of Victorian railway, with its lovely cream and maroon colour scheme and short platforms - only 37 meters long in fact.
The station is still operational, serving a diverse list of locations such as: Manchester, Crewe, Cardiff, Wrexham and Shrewsbury.
Whilst it is operational, it is unmanned, and so facilities are at an absolute bare minimum.
It is well worth a visit, if only to see the absurd village signs.
