Worth a visit
Vardoehus Fortress的点评
点评：This is worth a visit if you are in Vardø. I have been here once before when i was a child, and wanted to go back again to get the experience as an adult.
The fortress is fairly small, but it's lovely to walk on the stone walls and look at the view of the town, of the sea and everything else. There are some cool cannons too!
I feel that we were a bit unlucky though. They were clearly doing upgrades when we were there, and i just didn't feel the "historic feeling" you would normally get, when the tower and area was surrounded with workers playing loud music and talking...
I enjoyed the information and exhibition inside the small houses on the grounds, very informative and interesting.
We wanted to purchase some souvenirs when we left, but the store for that was locked. Which was strange, because there was a huge sign saying that that was the office for guided tours and souvenirs, and that it was open. So yeah, it felt a bit disorganized and clumsy..
