点评:Joris turned up spot on time, and was engaging from the start. His vehicle was just the right size for the four of us, and very clean. We visited Son, Veghel, Grave, Nijmegen and Arnhem for the bridges, as well as some viewpoints over the LZs, DZs and villages. Between stops Joris shared much knowledge about the area, pointing out houses and farms that survived, and some scars of battle. At each stop Joris produced maps, photos and video recordings to supplement what he was talking about, and added lots of information about individuals who had fought there, military and civilian. This seemed to make the story come alive, and made it more personal for us. Throughout the tour he kept up the commentary, except at lunch, there it was much more social. About lunch - if Joris mentions Dutch pancakes try them - magnificent! We ate in a lovely woodland setting. This was a fascinating tour fir all of us- one enthusiast, one interested and our wives, who became interested as the day went on. Joris is great with questions, and takes the time to give that bit more. Again, the personal stories of meeting veterans (US and British) were quite moving, and brought home what an experience this was not those youngsters. A great day out, and well worth it.
