点评:We arrived late on a drizzly autumn day so it wasn't the most auspicious but even allowing for this we found the experience a tad disappointing. Parking was fine, the lady was perfectly nice and we were happy to do gift aid as part of our ticket. We were handed a paper map and made our way up the path. I found we swiftly become rather lost and once we were in there was no signage to indicate where we actually were. We found our bearings eventually but we lost our way a few times. It also quickly become clear that the site isn't very large at all and can easily be seen in an hour or so. There are some pathways but quite often we were walking on grass - very wet grass by this point, and our feet got soaked.
Facitliies are rather spartan. There seemed to be toilets but were all locked by the time we found them (1600 or so). There is a nice coffee stand there.
There are some lovely trees here, so on a dry day, the sun out, who knows if this would have lifted our experience somewhat. But I've been to other aboreta that have been much larger than this and would have warranted year-round visits to enjoy different colour etc. I think at £8 an adult I don't think I can quite say the same of Harcourt, unfortunately.
