点评:The location is very central, it is inside the Canal Plaza which is just opposite Nord Hotel (where we took our buffet lunch!).
This facility is located within a historical storehouse, constructed in 1893m where one can find tourism related information particularly for Otaru. There's an international information center, even a café space, and a souvenir corner. There is quite an elaborate sale of Hokkaido made goods and products, ranging from sake to food stuffs like ramen noddle and spices ... long queue.
We checked out some local maps and noted that they even provide accommodations, transportation, tours as well as seasonal information that is difficult to source from the website!.
There are some exhibits where one can also learn about the history of Otaru by viewing old maps and photographs of the city. Various events and exhibitions are held in the multi-purpose gallery.
We sat at the tables/chairs while chilling over drinks. And freshen up before walking back to JR station 10 mins away for our trip back Sapporo.
