Cedar Creek & Belle Grove National Historical Park的点评
点评:We did the hike to the overlook of belle grove after visiting the nps visitor center in a small strip mall. small parking lot at the new york monument suggested to us by the nps staff member. suggested the car tour, and we made several stops on our own (ie without listening to the audio) we were rather exhausted as we had driven up from fishers hill thru a terrible storm. here it wasnt too wet so we did a two mile hike where we could see the earthworks the union dug in what turned out to be the wrong direction. the signage could be better. trails were color coded, the nps map was not, so we had to wing it and hope we wouldnt get lost. some side trails were overgrown so wear long pants and bug dope. trails are thru the woods so shaded. last part of the hike was on the “belle grove” trails which connected up.
