点评：As a 1962 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, I have fond and vivid memories of the Quad, the beautiful and spacious plot of green landscape that bisects the main campus. Foellinger Auditorium is at the south end and the Illini Union is at the north end. For four years, I walked from Gregory Hall at the south end to Lincoln Hall to Altgeld Hall at the north end to attend classes. I bowled in the basement of the Illini Union and spend nearly every free hour across the street in the basement of Illini Hall, which housed the student newspaper, the Daily Illini. And when it was all over, I picked up my diploma at the Administration Building. Along the way, I admired the Alma Mater statue at the corner of Wright and Green Streets, north of Altgeld Hall, and the historic Morrow Plots south of the Auditorium, got monthly haircuts in a nearby Campus Town barbershop, watched my brother compete in the state high school tennis tournament on the University courts and took out books from the University Library, the second largest in the country. I even dated co-eds from the Chi Omega and Kappa Alpha Theta sororities across the street from Lincoln Hall. In retrospect, I probably didn't take full advantage of the amenities that the Quad had to offer. Picnics weren't permitted on the grounds but students laid out blankets to study and sun-bathe. Or they played frisbee. Like Memorial Stadium or State Farm Center, the Quad is a signature feature on the Illini campus.
