Forestry England clearly don't want visitors here

点评：Used to be a regular trip for us with the kids - it's a beautiful wood with a wide choice of paths to suit weather and preference. Bluebell and blackberry seasons in particular, and many opportunities for den-building and just spending time out in nature.
...but there is now no way to access the wood except through Oversley Green, where there is nowhere sensible to park because it's a village with narrow lanes. So unless you're fortunate enough to live in Oversley Green, or have time and energy to walk all the way from Alcester (>3/4 mile just to get to the up-and-over footbridge, all before you get to the long uphill path to the woods proper.
So if you're visiting with kids it's now close to 30 minutes each way just to get to the woods, which makes it effectively pointless. And despite substantial feeling about this from many people in response to their Spring consultation, Forestry England declined to offer any solutions, saying "Oversley Wood is not considered by Forestry England to be a visitor destination, and we do not promote it as a place to visit by car. Forestry England currently have no plans to develop a car park at this location. Our nearest site where we are investing in and expanding our visitor facilities is Wyre Forest near Bewdley." (Bewdley is nearly an hour away by car)
