点评：My wife and I recently very much enjoyed our 'Meerkat Experience Encounter' at Millets Wildside. The joining instructions were clear and helpful and we were met promptly at 10.00 by Alissa who introduced herself as Head Mammal Keeper - she was incredibly knowledgeable, able to answer all our questions and clearly passionate about the animals in her care. The 'encounter' was exactly as promised - we spent about 20 minutes with the meerkats, who were completely unphased by our presence and quite happy to climb all over us in return for being hand fed (actually tongs fed) with mealworms. After this there was plenty of time to visit the rest of the Wildside residents and watch the birds of prey flight demonstration and otter feeding time. As we visited on a weekday during term time, it was very quite so we were able to take our time in admiring everything.
Millets Wildside is part of Millets Farm Centre - we visited the restaurant for lunch and were really impressed - the whole place is very attractive with seating divided into a number of separate areas some obviously aimed more at those with children and others at those without. We found the food to be of excellent quality (much of it - including the hot dishes and some very tempting cakes - is made on site) and reasonably priced and the staff were really helpful and effective in keeping everything clean, neat and tidy. There is also a farm shop with lots of very tempting displays of foodstuffs, though not somewhere to do the weekly shop if you're on a budget!
Overall we had a really excellent day and couldn't identify anything that could have been done better.
