Not worth your time - go to a wine shop to taste their wine.
Azienda Agricola G.D. Vajra, Barolo的点评
点评：Meh. It was near impossible to get a tasting time. When we finally got an appt we thought we hit the lottery! We got there about 15 minutes early and were told to take a seat while they finished the previous tasting. Our tasting started about 10 minutes late, the employee didn’t introduce herself or really talk much about the vineyard/family/history. She asked our group what we wanted to taste. We all looked at each other like, huh? I said Nebbiolo, and she said something like no, that is boring. She went on to suggest a handful of wines to which the group agreed. Half of the wines we tasted were out of stock, so in some ways, what is the point of tasting them? Two Barolos were in the tasting. I know that is what they are known for, but not my thing. She kept saying the Barolos went great with meat, but only gave dry crackers to cleanse our palette as part of the tasting. We were so excited to get an appointment, but it was actually super disappointing. We visited other vineyards the same day that don’t have anywhere near the reputation of G.D. Vajra that were more informative, offered beautiful venues and had a selection of meats and cheeses to accompany the tasting.
The prices for their wine were the same or more than we can get in the US. Tasting was at a table in the entry/office building. One seat out of 9 or so had a view out the window, otherwise everyone was staring at a wall. Just not what I thought when visiting a highly regarded vineyard in Italy.
