点评：Closed on Sundays and usually ends by 2:00PM/14:00 on other days, this inviting market is fun to stroll around and explore. There are a number of café’s nearby that serve lunch and dinner.
Definitely not as large as the Ballaro Market in Palermo, but you do feel there is more room to walk around and enjoy the scene. There are a number of kiosks that sell all sorts of fish like large tuna and octopus. Plenty of vendors selling fruit and vegetables. A dedicated area that only sells dry goods like souvenirs.
Close by is the Temple of Apollo, the oldest temple ruins in Sicily dating back to 580 BC. And towards the small harbor that separates Otigia from Syracuse, is the statue of Archimedes, the famous inventor and scientist of Syracuse dating back to 200 BC. He once destroyed a Roman fleet by using mirrors.
