Epic weekend in Tanna

点评：The overnight trip to Tanna was an incredible experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience a beautiful island and culture.
The flight to and from Tanna felt very safe and smooth.
Accommodation at the Evergreen was basic, though had friendly staff and the most incredible views from the restaurant.
A bonus was being able to do a separate tour to the giant Banyan tree in the morning, organised by the Evergreen. Some of the other tours were not available since they required advance notice (many people keep sabbath on Saturdays in Tanna). Considering I arrived and asked for the Banyan tour with 30mins notice, it was pretty incredible that the Evergreen could accommodate me! The guide and driver were lovely and taught me so much about kastom. The drive through villages to get to the tree was also stunning.
The volcano tour itself was amazing. The drive across the ash plains was certainly a highlight and the driver gave us lots of opportunities to stop for photos. The experience of standing on the crater of Mt Yasur is like none other. Conditions weren't playing ball and there was a lot of steam that prevented us from getting a clear view of the inside of the crater - but thats just mother nature. The sound and feel of the volcano was incredible and still made the trip well worth it.
