点评:I came across Daniels Mill by accident while looking for things to do near where I was staying, and what a fantastic find it was! I visited at 10am on a Sunday to beat the rush – a good idea, as the car park does get very full and can be tricky to get out of later.
The mill itself is absolutely fascinating, full of history, and brought to life by our brilliant guide, who has been volunteering there for 17 years. His knowledge and passion made the visit even more special. Watching the great waterwheel in motion was a real highlight – such an incredible piece of engineering to see working up close.
After the tour, I enjoyed a visit to the tearoom, which was warm and welcoming. Sitting with a cup of tea while watching the trains go over the viaduct was just perfect – definitely worth checking the timings if you want to catch a steam train passing by.
A hidden gem that I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone visiting the area!
