点评:I imagine this is a nice recreational space to frequent if you’re local, but the hype about the park being “stunning” and full of wildlife set up expectations that weren’t met. There were plenty of people and dogs, but not a lot of wildlife!
Apart from some views at the war
Memorial, the stone circle looked suspiciously recent, and the Iron Age hill fort seems to have been decimated by extensive quarrying. There really isn’t much to see, as the one visitor we asked on arrival seemed to convey on his summation of it being a walk (or run) up and down some mounds.
The pros are that there are plenty of small car parks dotted around so you don’t have to climb up the hill, making it accessible for most, and a large pub, however, on a sunny bank holiday Monday, the place was packed and there were plenty of opportunities for car park rage!
In conclusion, it’s nice as an amenity for locals, but it’s not worth traveling any distance to visit.
