点评：I was more than hesitant to do this, what with not having been on a horse in 40 years. My wife finally talked me into it.
GREATEST HOUR I'VE HAD ON A VACATION MAYBE EVER.
The horses are so tame, obedient, gentle, and easy to ride. They walk slowly in a line behind the guide. There is a three-step wooden stool that riders use to mount the horse. The ride...oh man, it was stirring in terms of scenery. The dunes have stunning flora. The mountains in the California sun seemed almost CGI. And then you come up and see the Pacific AND then go down the dunes and ride on the beach. Again, it was just so moving to this East Coaster.
I can't say enough about our guide, Addy, whose calmness and lack of "hurry" made for such a reassuring, fear-free ride. I'm guessing all the guides have that same aura. She even dismounted on the beach and used people's phones to take wonderful pictures of riders with the Pacific and mountains in the background.
One tip. Put the actual address into your GPS. The link we got from the company took us to a farm about a quarter mile up the road.
If you're on the fence, well, get off the fence and onto a horse. You won't be sorry. I almost went back the next day to do it again. For real.
