点评：We did the Piedmont tour. There were positives but too many negatives. One hotel excellent, one good and one terrible. The first night the restaurant that was supposed to open just for our group canceled. So you wonder how strong a relationship the tour owner has with the restaurant owner. We were told the substitute restaurant was a 20 minute walk. It was almost 40 minutes and over uneven surfaces. Most of us opted to take a cab back to the hotel. The tour did not pick up the cost. Terrible experience and the tour cheaped out. Several restaurants were wine only so you could not order a cocktail. There was a problem getting the tickets into one of the museums. You just got the feeling this is not a top grade tour. Price value is poor. The middle hotel was more like a college dormitory. No real bar and absolutely no atmosphere. We had no hot water in our bathroom and even after two complaints it was not fixed. That hotel was in the middle of nowhere. Originally we were on our own to take transportation into the nearest town for dinner but the tour operator decided that we would have dinner at the hotel. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and personal but many times would start her discussion on walking tours before the last of the group arrived at the location. We also stood in some fairly heavy rain when she could have given us her comments inside a church. Our bus driver got stuck in the mud and we had to be towed out. That cost us 40 minutes and we ended up with a very late lunch. So you can sense I was soured about the trip as the negatives are what I have focused on in this review. But there were positives. The cooking class was spectacular. The visit to the winery run by a young couple who also hosted truffle hunting was also a winner even if the wine was not top grade. The walking tours were very informative.
