点评：There are not enough adjectives to describe the reward of having Jarka and Peter as our tour guides in Slovakia. We hired Rajec Travel for 2 days. My primary agenda was to know more about the Jewish history in East Slovakia while soaking in the every other detail of the land. Day 1 was to return to a small village, Secovce, where my father was born and raised. Not a popular tourist destination however, they managed to make it into a full day of history, sight seeing and fun. Our home base was in Kosice. This is an beautiful city filled with rich history, beautiful architecture, a slower paced city with great food. I was surprised by how much both Jarka and Peter knew about every mile we traveled from history to current day. Our 2nd day was a ride to Krakow, Poland. A ride through the Carpathians with a stop at Spitz Castle and other interesting areas along the way with the most amazing views. More history. I traveled for 5 weeks around Europe and I have no hesitation in saying that my one of my favorite parts of the trip were the 2 days spent in E Slovakia with Peter and Jarka. I'm glad I was able to bring my nephew and dearest friend from childhood along for the ride. On the personal side Jarka & Peter were so easy to be with from the minute we entered our comfortable van (water provided). We felt like family within a short period of time. There was not one minute that we were not mesmerized and educated about the rich cultures and history of the area. Thank you Peter & Jarka for making our days in Slovakia fabulous. It was everything I hoped it would be and so much more.
