A fantastic tour of ancestral villages in the High Tatras fulfilled a lifetime dream

点评：For many years I've wanted to visit the two villages, Czarna Gore and Rzespiska, in the High Tatras Mountains of former Hungary, but now part of Poland, where my Slovak grandmother and great-grandfather came from. I arranged with Ondrej and Jarka to take me on a guided two day tour of this area. Prior to my visit, they took the time to investigate these villages, to locate the cemeteries and to make arrangements with a priest at one of the churches for a private visit. After we visited with the priest at the church in Rzespiska, they drove me to 4 different cemeteries, where they patiently helped me search for graves with my family's surnames. They also took me to a local folklore museum, where I learned much about the lives and traditional ways of the people who lived in this region. On the second day of my tour, we visited Spis Castle, and several other attractions in the eastern High Tatras. Rajec Travel arranged all my lodging and transportation by train from Bratislava to Poprad and then at the end of my trip to Budapest. I couldn't be more satisfied with my experience with Rajec Travel while visiting Slovakia. The trip exceeded my expectations. Jarka had a wealth of knowledge about the history, architecture, and people of Slovakia and the surrounding areas. The hotels I stayed at were all very clean, comfortable and extremely accommodating. If I return, I would travel with them again. I highly recommend Rajec Travel if you are interested in travel in this area.
