Great tour with Lava Horses

点评：Great ride with Lava Horses. The route to the farm is well signed and it was easy to find. Our guide (I'm bad with names, but it was the young woman originally from Germany) greeted us, made us feel welcome and asked about our experience level so that she could match us with the right horses.
The scenery is incredible and the route takes you through a number of different landscapes (fields with sheep and cattle, distant mountains, birch forest, lava fields, etc.) It has to be one of the most scenic places on earth. We got a chance to make a couple of fairly steep climbs/descents and got the horses up to a Tolt (a gait unique to Icelandic horses) on many occasions. We didn't just get in a line and walk along a dusty path. There was some excitement to it - even a river crossing.
The tour was advertised to be two hours long, but we were on the route for almost 2 1/2 hours. Our guide was wonderful. She shared her knowledge of the area in an entertaining way and paid attention to make sure no one in our group was having difficulties with our horses. I also need to give a shout out to my horse Galsi. He was energetic, eager to run and liked to rub his head against me for attention when I wasn't on his back :) I have been on five trail rides and this is, by far, the best. If we ever make our way back to Husavik, I promise we take another ride with them.
