Worth the effort & 3km entrance. Busy road. Wonderful artefacts & icons in church & museum. Cool & relaxed. No cafe.

We three middle aged guys from London were exploring just outside the old town, looking for the famous icon museum and found this old church with museum attached to it.
We entered the church and a woman came up to us to ask for 3km each which was not a problem as it covered the church and museum entrance fees.
The church was quaint and very interesting design with a balcony all the way round, an impressive, intricate and old screen with damage that reflected its history.
On the upper balcony was a small coffin, there was no interpretation so we have no idea who it was.
From the church we went into the museum which was small but amazing if you like ancient icons and books (14th century included). It was pretty empty (as was the church) when we went so we had plenty of time to get up close to any object we wanted.
It was also nice and cool in the building too to preserve the artefacts including some very very old fabrics.
There was a visitors' book which we all signed of course.
Well worth the entrance with the church, less than a beer!
