点评:Firstly, the setting for this day is stunning. If you’ve never visited the restaurant, it’s so worth it.
Back to the course, it’s the best part of £400 for the day. Is it worth the money, sadly no it’s not.
The negatives:
1. I would say 70% of the day is sat listening to the instructor
2. You don’t get a station to yourself, you have to share with someone, for me that was a lovely person but still a stranger.
3. Very limited chance to actually cook. When we did cook, we had to share the task with our partner.
4. The technical level is quite low, great for some, but I had hoped that it would be more technical and I would come away having learned a lot.
The positives:
1. The team (Mark, Mikey and Emma) were just lovely, great banter between them, very knowledgeable and ran a really well organised day
2. The ingredients are first class.
3. The other guests were really nice company
4. Raymond did stick his head in so we got to chat to him briefly.
Sounds like a negative review, and I guess it is, but it was an enjoyable day, but if you want hands on, technical training then you aren’t going to get it.
Compared to the Cookery School at The Grand in York (which is less than half the price) there is no comparison.
If you want to visit a beautiful place, spend the day with nice people and watch demos and chat about food it’s great,… if you want to learn and cook your heart out, it’s not the place for you.
