点评:Believe the signs that warn you that this is a dangerous trail. Short, but very narrow, cliff hanging trail. We are in our 60's, and like to do pretty moderate hikes and have climbed over many boulders and hiked many ocean cliff hikes, but the trail to the Red Sand Beach was treacherous in many places. The trail has been washed away in some spots that created a narrow, sloping path to an even narrower path. One particularly narrow area sloped toward the cliff and was full of tiny, sliding rocks with zero traction. We continued even though we wanted to turn back several times because the reward at the end usually wins out. The Red Sand Beach was a very pretty reward, tucked into a cove surrounded by tall red cliffs and protected from the most beautiful, unusual blue colored ocean by natural reeflike rocks. Need good shoes. Saw a young couple wearing pool slides on their way in as we exited. Crazy. I hope they turned around. We should have brought our hiking poles. Hard to find the trailhead. We parked at the Hana Bay Beach Area and walked down the road, passing ballpark on right and passing the school on the left. There were a few areas on the road to park closer to trailhead. Just past the school and community building is a gated grassy area. Walk around the gate, follow the narrow dirt path in the grass which leads to the trail.
