点评:Pros:
*A little history for the family with a John Cabot statue and plaque (if you’re in the area during the first weekend of July, they have a re-enactment of his landing which is always fun!)
* Sandy, quiet beach that stretches for miles. You can find your own private oasis along the coastline as it isn’t frequented by many, mostly locals (who are extremely friendly!)
* Amazing views of Cape Smokey and surrounding mountains
* Accessible by ramp
* Stream for children to play in, most easily accessible to the right of the ramp
Cons:
* Though accessible by ramp, the beach is not mobility friendly. You need to cross a stream in order to access the ocean or walk around the stream to the left of the ramp. That being said, the sand slopes and there are small, dead trees laying across the path so one must be cautious. If you just want to enjoy the beach without access to the ocean, you will be fine on either side of the ramp.
* The current is very strong here. I didn’t note any signs warning patrons of this which could be hazardous for tourists. Be mindful, especially with children or with any kind of wave.
* If you’re swimming, there is no water source to clean yourself off after the fact so bring extra towels just in case
